Southern Inferno Kennels
Notice if you intend to Breed
*******Important!!! If you wish to purchase a Southern Inferno Pup with the intent of breeding Please read this first.
All Southern Inferno Productions MUST prove themselves BEFORE being BRED. This breed is overrun with breeders whom have no purpose or direction behind their programs, breeding simply to line their pockets. Breeding animals without direction dilutes workability, heart, and conformation leaving us with nothing more than a shell of a dog after a few generations.
We do not support breeding untested animals! If you wish to acquire a Southern Inferno bred pup with the intent of breeding, please be aware that you must prove it in your chosen venue first. We support all legal means for proving this breed. Conformation, weight pull, schutzhund, agility, therapy, hog hunting, etc.. all are valid forms of work. This is not an all inclusive list of working venues; If you wish to participate in another proving ground, not listed, just contact us with info about what you would like to do.
Participants in conformation, wt. pull or any other dog sport with a recognized organization must present a copy of a champion, ace, or another title's paper work to Southern Inferno Kennels prior to breeding. For activities such as hog hunting, which do not have organizing bodies to give awards; video and/or pictures must be provided demonstrating your Southern Inferno dog successfully performing this work.
To enforce this policy, Southern Inferno KNLS will be listed as the co-owner on all productions ADBA and/or UKC paper work until these criteria are met. Once met, full ownership will be signed over to the buyer.
This policy does NOT apply to those whom do not intend to breed their Southern Inferno production. If you would like one just as an active companion, Southern Inferno KNLS will be listed as the co-owner until the dog is spayed or neutered. It is not mandated that you alter your pet, however SIK will remain on all paper work until alteration is complete. Co-ownership is only for registration purposes. When you purchase a pup from us, it is yours and your responsibility; however remaining on registration paperwork we have found is the only way to successfully prevent registered litters from unproven productions.
If you have any questions about the requirements for owning and breeding a Southern Inferno dog, please contact us PRIOR to placing your deposit.
General Puppy Policy
At Southern Inferno Kennels we do not have litters often, but when we do it is only because we have found a sire and dam that embody all the characteristics of the ideal APBT and will create offspring which will serve as great ambassadors for the breed. We are very selective in who we sell our pups to and just because you have enough money does not mean you will get a pup. We are in no hurry to sell our pups and only will do so when we believe it is the ideal match. We reserve the right to deny any buyer at any point.
If you would like to be considered for a current breeding or receive information on future Southern Inferno breedings then please fill out a puppy application form.
No dogs are bred or sold for illegal purposes. The days of dog fighting are long gone and it is important for the survival of this breed we pursue other means of proving these dogs. Shows, Weight Pull, Hog Hunting, Obedience, and Therapy work are the proving grounds for the modern day American Pitbull Terrier. For this reason Southern Inferno Kennels wishes to encourage our puppy owners to actively raise their puppy to be a breed ambassador, and offers this incentive to those who earn it.
Southern Inferno Kennels will furnish owners of our productions with another puppy at ½ price, should their Southern Inferno production earn therapy, drug sniffing or search and rescue status.
Southern Inferno Kennels will also furnish owners of Southern Inferno dogs with a puppy of comparable quality or stud service (from the leading stud dog of Southern Inferno Kennels, at the time), of the Southern Inferno's choice for ½ price, should their Southern Inferno production complete it's ACE (ADBA), UWPCH (UKC), Working Dog Superior (IWPA) or Conformation Championship.
In addition should a Southern Inferno production obtain a Grand Champion title Southern Inferno Kennels will furnish the Southern Inferno pruduction's owner with a pup free of charge. All shipping expenses remain the sole responsibility of the buyer and puppy selection and placement will be at Southern Inferno Kenenls discretion.
All Southern Inferno pups will be registered with the UKC and/or ADBA, up to date on all shots/ de-wormer, and provided mental and physical stimulation while residing at Southern Inferno Kennels. Pups will be introduced to a variety of environments and people to provide a strong base for a social and intelligent pup.
Reserving a Pup
Reserving an available pup
-A Minimum $500 deposit is required to hold your pick. We accept checks and money orders. Please contact me for mailing address.
-Deposits determine your name getting on the waiting list, as well as pick number, so the quickest deposits get the first picks.
-Deposits are non-refundable however, if your pick number is near the end of the pick list and the sex of puppy you wanted is not available then you will be moved to our next available litter. If the price of the puppy is more, you will be expected to pay that amount.
-Buyer must choose their pick by the age of 6 weeks, or the pick will be made for you.
-Buyer must pay for the puppy in full by 8 weeks of age or their deposit will be forfeited.
-At 8 weeks of age, if you have not paid in full, you loose your deposit and the pup is for sale again. If you have paid in full and by the 8 weeks of age and have not picked your pup up or when told your pup is ready to be picked up, a $25.00 per day boarding fee will be charged to cover the costs of additional vaccination, food, and care needed at that time. When pup is 12 weeks old and you still have not picked your pup up, the pup will be up for sale again and only money above the minimum deposit and the boarding fee will be returned. Communication is the key.
-Buyer must submit a signed Sales Agreement before arranging for pick up or shipping.
Reserving an Unborn Pup
I always prefer that deposits are placed on pups that have been born and are on the ground, because unfortunately breedings are not always predictable and there is always the possibility that a breeding may not take or that there will be a limited number of pups born.
However, if you "insist" on sending in a deposit on an unborn pup, and the breeding doesn't take, or there are not enough pups to go around, you must understand and agree that you will NOT get a refund. Naturally, your deposit will be credited toward our next breeding, but you will not receive a refund.
Therefore, if you only want a pup from "one" particular breeding, then please DO NOT send a deposit until you are sure there is a pup available (i.e., the litter hits the ground). Only send a deposit on an unborn pup if you don't mind the possibility of having to switch to another breeding should there not be enough (or any) pups to go around.
However, this does NOT mean "you" can keep switching, or changing your mind, as to what breeding you want your pup from. Once you send your deposit on a pup from a particular breeding, that's it. You can't keep asking me to "switch" your deposit from applying to one breeding over to another. Once I receive your deposit, and mark you down for a pup off of a particular breeding, then that breeding is where the deposit stays. This is to avoid confusion.
-The "plus" to sending a deposit on an unborn pup is that you will have the best chance of getting the pup you want this way.
-The "minus" of sending a deposit on an unborn pup is that there might not be enough pups for you, or the breeding might not take, and then you will have to wait awhile for another litter.
-So make your decision on whether or not to send a deposit on an unborn pup based on what is MORE IMPORTANT to you: (a) making sure you have the best shot at getting a pup from your favorite breeding, or (b) holding off to be sure a pup is actually available.
Shipping
We prefer that our pups are picked up in person; however understand that in some circumstances, shipping is necessary. If shipping is needed pup must be paid in full by 7 weeks of age so that it can be shipped at 8 weeks. All shipping costs are the sole responsibility of the buyer. We will only ship via ground transporter and within the USA. We will not ship by air at all. Shipping cost varies greatly depending on location and current fuel costs , but is normally around $500
